Summertime

Ah, summertime! Probably my favorite time of the year! Also the time of the year where I appreciate not having a white collar job. Or blue collar! Or a job! ;-)

And in order to minimize my workload even further, we decided to let you to all the work again! It's been a while since we last did this, but we decided it is time for a new...

"COMPLETE THE CARTOON" CONTEST!

The "old" fans among you know how this works! For all of you who don't: We post a cartoon in our forum, and you think up captions that would go with it. Simple, huh?

All you have to do is go to our forum, where you can post your suggestions. This here is the cartoon in question:

We have two awesome prizes for you this time:

1) Everybody who participates will take part in a drawing for a Japanese Skywriter T-Shirt. So, don't be shy if you think you idea might not be the funniest one. Everybody has a chance to win!

2) And for the person who we think has the funniest idea (as usual this will be our discreet decision by intransparent and subjective criteria), will win a one year subscription to "The Funniez", which brings us to our next subject:

THE FUNNIEZ

So far our comic strips are mostly being published in specialist magazines and a few general papers and magazines. But from now on, Chicken Wings are also going to be part of brand new comic magazine "The Funniez", which will be launched in two weeks from now. You can already tell it is going to be an awesome paper, because it will feature the world's best comic strip! If you don't win the subscription, you can sign up for one at this email address: subscribe@thefunniez.com

NEW VOTING INCENTIVES

We have also uploaded new voting incentives! So, if you want to see some extra cartoons, please vote for us on thevoting buttons to the left or on our Link Page. Thanks a lot!

Myself, I would go for Sushi too!

It seems barely a week goes by without a headline about a new record oil price. I wonder if we're even understating things by calling it a $200 and not a $500 hamburger!

Everybody's complaining about fuel prices, and not unjustifiably so. Obviously half of the money you're paying through your nose goes to the government in the form of sales and fuel taxes (at least in my country it's like that). Although it has to be said that the sales tax increase levels out by people spending less on other things. But If you want to know where the other half goes, look here.*

(* This is a video about Dubai. We're aware that not actually the whole of the other half of your oil dollar is going to Dubai. Given the size of the country probably just a tiny fraction. We're aware that there's many other countries benefitting from the high oil prices. And we apologize if, by the shortness of the post, some of you would have gotten the impression that we're blaming Dubai or any country. Still, it can't be said that they're not benefiting from it, right? (sometimes it's amazing how politically correct some of you expect a comic creator to be.))

Fire Season has begun...

Hi guys!
It's been a while since I last wrote. Sorry. Fireseason has begun for me and I even went to my first fire last Sunday. Surprisingly, fires don't seem to stick to an eight-to-five-5 days-a-week schedule . . .
So, since "Chicken Wings" has not replaced "The Simpsons" on TV as planned quite yet, I will be out in the sticks a lot this summer to bring in some money. We need to get a budget together to print the next book! I will check my emails and orders as much as I can but please be patient if I don't get back to you right away. The shop shouldn't be affected much, since I have "people". By the way: stop by the shop every now and then because we have reduced prices randomly here and there on the US-side.

Ah... summer!

Ah... summer! Let me tell you, it's my favorite time of the year right now! The weather is just perfect here. Just so warm that you can still enjoy it while being in the city. On the one hand sitting in front of the computer and working costs quite some effort now, but on the other hand, I can have the occasional stroll in the park and enjoy a cool beer in one of the beergardens here. And because I am a good little brother, and Mike is in the desert working his butt off throughout summer, I have to drink his share too! ;-)

The Aviator Pro 3000 Manual

With a couple of manuals like that, it seems even Chuck can build a respectable library! Seriously though, nowadays with all electronic gadgets getting smaller and smaller and having ever more features, it happens all the time that the manual is three times as big as the device it is about. I don't know about you folks in the States, but here in Europe you usually get every manual in at least ten different languages too...
